This Privacy Policy explains how Hoang Thuy Linh (ABN 46 308 761 615) of 4/367-369 Marrickville Road, Marrickville NSW 2204, Australia, trading as TipVolt ("TipVolt", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use tipvolt.xyz and related services (the "Service"). We're bound by the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Account information (Creators): email address, password (stored as a salted hash by Supabase Auth - we never see or store your plaintext password), handle, display name, and bio.
Tip information (Fans): the name and message you optionally attach to a Tip, the Tip amount, and which Creator you tipped. Fans aren't required to create an account.
Payment information: card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay details are entered directly into Stripe's hosted Checkout and never touch TipVolt's servers. We receive and store only a Stripe transaction reference, the payment method type (e.g. "card"), and the resulting fee breakdown - never full card numbers, CVVs, or bank credentials.
Technical information: IP address and basic request metadata, used for rate-limiting and fraud prevention on payment and account endpoints.
We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it. Full stop.
We share information only with the service providers that make TipVolt work:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of TipVolt, our users, or the public. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
TipVolt uses Supabase's authentication session (stored via cookies/local storage in your browser) to keep Creators logged in. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we'll update this policy.
We retain account and Tip records for as long as your account is active and afterward as needed to satisfy tax, accounting, and legal obligations (Tip and payout records are typically kept for at least 7 years to comply with Australian tax record-keeping requirements). You can request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to these retention obligations.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, signature-verified payment webhooks, and rate limiting on sensitive endpoints. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

TipVolt is operated from Australia, but our infrastructure providers (Stripe, Supabase, Vercel) may process or store data in other countries, including the United States. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those countries.
TipVolt is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective date" above and, where practical, notify Creators by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
